Top Nearby Attractions in Myrtle Beach

Our Myrtle Beach condo resort is a great home base for exploring the many entertainment options and attractions in Myrtle Beach.  It can be difficult to decide where to go, especially if you have limited time with us.  We’ve gathered up some of our favorite nearby attractions:

Visitors to Ripley's AquariumBroadway at the Beach

Located just 7 minutes from the resort, several of our top attractions can be found at this popular destination.  Broadway also features restaurants, shopping venues and a movie theater.

  • Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center - Have you ever wanted to sail the seas with Captain Jack Sparrow or walk the red carpet with Halle Berry?  At the Hollywood Wax Museum, visitors are encouraged to take their picture with the rich and famous, and they even provide some props to help guests blend into the scene.  Learn fun facts about your favorite celebrities, and see actors on the sets of their well-known movies.

  • Ripley’s Aquarium - After a morning at the beach, the aquarium is a great way to experience sea life up close!  Ripley’s Aquarium features beautiful exhibits and a tunnel that puts you and your friends in the middle of the undersea action.  Say “hi” to a shark, and touch a stingray. Visits during certain seasons include live mermaids!  Guests also have the option to package tickets with other Ripley’s attractions, such as the Mirror Maze or Moving Theater, which are located near the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.

  • Legends in Concert - Catching a show is a great way to relax after a full day of activities.  Legends in Concert highlights world famous performers and currently features tributes to Elvis, Reba McEntire, the Blues Brothers, Lionel Richie, and Rod Stewart.

  • WonderWorks - Inside the amazing upside-down house are six zones of education and entertainment, including Space Discovery and Natural Disasters.  Check out our Myrtle Beach blog for more information and our current ticket special!

Ropes Course Challenge

If you need some exercise and great team building activities, Radical Ropes features obstacle courses more than 60 feet in the air!  Activities also include climbing walls, zip lines, and an optional freefall from 70 feet up.  Safety is very important to Radical Ropes, so call ahead to make sure your family can all participate with the age and weight restrictions.  They are located on 19th Ave S - about a 14 minute drive from Beach Colony Resort.

Market Common

The Market Common is another great destination for shopping and great restaurants.   One of the newest restaurants, Tupelo Honey Café, features classic Southern cuisine and has a good variety of affordable options.  Stop in for a movie at Grand Cinema 14, or stock up on groceries at a very nice Piggly Wiggly.  Many locals live or work in The Market Common, and you may see them walking their dogs, playing sports in the park, or eating at Gordon Biersch.  The Market Common is located on Farrow Parkway – across Hwy 17 when heading south on Ocean Blvd.

 Dinner and a Show

Myrtle Beach is home to two amazing dinner shows.  At Medieval Times, cheer for your favorite knight during a jousting tournament and marvel at the performances of their horses.  Pirates Voyage has quickly become a guest favorite and has replaced Dixie Stampede, also produced by Dolly Parton.  Watch a talented crew of pirates and mermaids dive, climb, and perform with live animals!  Pirates Voyage is less than 10 minutes away, and Medieval Times is roughly a 17 minute drive.

Don’t forget that your exclusive Myrtle Beach discount card offers discounts to many of these attractions and restaurants.
