October Events in Myrtle Beach


October is a favorite month in Myrtle Beach among visitors and locals alike. The comfortable temperatures and disappearing crowds make this time of year ideal for getting out and enjoying all that the beach has to offer! Take a look at some of the exciting events happening near Beach Colony Resort this month and pencil a few in to your beach itinerary:



Myrtle Beach Oktoberfest – October 11th

If you are looking for the area’s biggest and best Oktoberfest, look no farther than the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk! This oceanfront venue is home to all of the traditional Oktoberfest favorites... and much more. Guests can look forward to live entertainment throughout the day on the oceanfront stage, a plethora of tantalizing food vendors offering up everything from schnitzel to strudel, a wide array of local arts and crafts vendors, and the area’s largest Oktoberfest beer garden. In addition, there will be plenty of activities for families, like face painting, games, carnival rides, and much more. This bustling festival runs from 11am – 11pm and is free to attend! Just head to the oceanfront boardwalk to see what all the buzz is about.



Chilympics Chili Cook Off – October 12th

Looking to enjoy some creative concoctions and a nice sea breeze? If so, head south to the charming seaside town of Murrells Inlet to take place in the 15th Annual Chilympics Chili Cook Off! This tasty festival will feature more than 25 local vendors who will be offerings up their signature twist on chili. Guests can expect plenty of more traditional renditions in addition to several more unique selections like pumpkin chili, seafood chili, and even hotdog chili. This event will also offer live entertainment all day long and plenty of activities for families. The Chili Cook Off takes places at the newly created Jetty Walk near King Street Grille and Hot Fish Club. Myrtle Beach Wine Fest & Taste of Market Common – October 18th

Lovers of good food and great fermented beverages are sure to enjoy the festive offerings at the 5th Annual Myrtle Beach Wine Fest and Taste of Market Common. Valor Park, the scenic park at Market Common, will be taken over by local vendors serving up their tastiest treats and you won’t want to miss out on the fun. Guests can look forward to sampling more than 40 unique wines and indulging in foods from more than 20 local vendors, including several from Market Common. This event is free to attend; guests wishing to sample wine will pay just $5 for a tasting glass and will then purchase tickets that can be traded for wine and food samples. Taste of the Town – October 21st

Loosen up that belt and grab tickets to Myrtle Beach’s most highly anticipated culinary event of the year – Taste of the Town. This taste-bud-tempting event takes place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and host 50 regional restaurants to showcase their finest food. There are hundreds of applicants and restaurants fight for the chance to offer their goods to the public. Guests wishing to attend can purchase a ticket for only $5 in advance (or $6 at the door) and will then purchase tickets that can be traded for tapas style tastings.
