Family Fun & More at The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk

Whether you are looking to entertain a crowd or are seeking a romantic couple’s escape, head down to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk for tons of fun and entertainment. This recently renovated oceanfront boardwalk offers a variety of attractions to please everyone from the thrill seeking adventurers to the more down to Earth visitors. With a variety of shops and restaurants, the boardwalk is also a great place to grab a quick bite to eat or a souvenir.

Start your adventure with a trip to the famous Myrtle Beach SkyWheel. New to the area, the SkyWheel graces the Myrtle Beach skyline with unprecedented grandeur. Grab a seat in one of 42 climate controlled gondolas and soar over 20 feet into the sky, enjoying breathtaking views of the Atlantic. If heights aren’t your thing, don’t worry! The SkyWheel is still an exciting sight to be seen, especially at night when it puts on a spectacular light show! Other area attractions include the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum, the Sling Shot Thrill Ride, Shark Attack Adventure Golf, and the Gay Dolphin Arcade.

If you are looking for a more relaxing adventure, head over to the south end of the boardwalk and explore the second avenue pier. Originally built in 1936, the pier has been an area staple for over 75 years. Enjoy a scenic stroll to the end of the pier and take in unbeatable panoramic views. Another favorite past time at the pier is fishing! The pier has a full bait and tackle shop, stocked with everything you could need to catch your lunch. Several species are available to catch throughout the year, like flounder, grouper, various trout, and perhaps even a baby shark!

Once you have enjoyed an attraction or two and a brisk walk, refuel at one of the boardwalk’s many restaurants. With options ranging from walk off the beach casual to casual upscale, there is something for every occasion. For a quick and delectable sandwich, try Dagwood’s Deli, a local favorite. Other casual eats include Landshark Landing Restaurant, Burger Paradise, and The Bowery. For a slower pace, try Pier House Restaurant, where you can enjoy succulent seafood and spectacular oceanfront views.

Family fun is also abundant at the boardwalk during the summer months thanks to the “Hot Summer Nights” promotion. No matter what might of the week you venture to the boardwalk, there is something fun and family friendly going on. Monday night is the famed Kids’ Carnival that features blow up attractions, face painting, caricatures, and more! Wednesday night is the spectacular fireworks show over the ocean that lights up the Atlantic. Other nights feature free open air concerts and lively street performers.

All in all, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk offers something for everyone! Whether you are looking for a thrilling attraction or the freshest seafood in town, make sure a trip to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is on your Myrtle Beach vacation itinerary.
